Dia de los Muertos 2011 at Fresthetic

I have to say that I am off a high after this year's Dia de los Muertos event that I was part of. Along side two great artists, Adrian "Viajero" Roman ( and Kai Margarida-Ramirez de Arellano ( we created a walk-in altar and surrounding cube skull. Adrian painted the right side and I took the left. Together we constructed the altar inside and Kai added the beautiful papel picado, or paper cut outs. The evening was great as we made the altar interactive by inviting people to bring photos or items and writing a message on the inside walls. My wife's dance collective did a dope singing performance, costumed and painted. I'm already thinking about next year's installation.
